It is a good idea to have a spare key to your home however you should ensure that you find a good and secure place to keep the spare key without many people knowing of its location. It is important for the people living in the house to have easy access to the spare key therefore you should make sure that everyone in the house is informed of the whereabouts of the spare key. However, you should also make sure not to leave the key in an area where it will be visible to anyone and everyone.

Installing a burglar alarm in your home will be beneficial as this will let you know if someone has broken into your home. For instance, if you do not take out the garbage this could attract rodents. Having rodents such as rats in your home can even result in animal droppings being left around the house. This can be very dangerous as animal droppings can sometimes carry infections and diseases. Therefore, you should ensure that you do not leave anything lying around that would attract unwanted animals into your home.

Especially if you have a big garden, you should make sure that the garden is well lit. This is important as it will allow you to see the activity that is going on in your garden even when the sun goes down.
